QR experiment: expanding data region for aesthetics

I am experimenting with how I can make QR codes more aesthetically pleasing. Specifically, how I can change the edges. Test 1 of expanding the alignment squares failed. But I realized I could expand the data region outside of the scanable region to “fake” a different effect. Using this technique, the square QR code begins to disappear.
