Creating more colorful and stylistic QR codes

April 22, 2010 1 comment

Simplified version of extreme halftone version presented in earlier post. Love the aesthetics of this piece.

Why are so many QR codes in black and white.  Although I fully understand the utility of codes to be functional in form, what we believe in at QR Arts is to balance the technical with the aesthetic values that can be achieved with QR codes.  Make them pop, and stand out.

WE believe in making QR codes as unique and valuable as the content that you are linking them to.  Lets create a better user experience.

April 7, 2010 Comments off

Possible ties to round QR codes and basketball ( or any other sport for that manner ).  QR code on backboard links to the mobile NBA site.

on second thought.. I think this looks too much like  a sperm.  Good failure though. maybe I can rework the basketball.

First QR code on campus!

April 5, 2010 Comments off

GW Art Department .  Code scans to show a flyer for the current gallery show, including opening and closing dates.  QR code was placed in “frame” to theme it in the art realm, and dept. info was placed on the name plate.

Measures appx. 32×32″

This was printed on bond paper ( 5 bucks ), but if received well, we will go a bit further with design and production materials.

all 8 marks worked with I-nigma and quickmark. Thus, QR codes can be rotated at any angle in order to integrate with custom illustrations and designed pieces. Looking further for resources that identify how rotation effects EC.
